Shasta County officials are expanding medical and mental health services, upgrading technology and renovating parts of the Shasta County Jail. The jail began working with Mediko on June 1, which provides medical and mental health services inside the jail. The provider has nearly doubled the jail's nursing staff and is launching a medication-assisted treatment program for inmates with substance use disorders. The jail plans to implement the state-mandated CalAIM program on Oct.
